It’s Time To Invest In A Good Cleanser

Face cleansing is the first baby step in skincare we cannot miss. Cleansers are formulated to remove dirt and excessive oil from the face that can clog your pores and cause dullness.

It is recommended to not directly start cleansing your face if you have applied makeup. Use any gentle makeup remover before you start cleansing. Please note a regular soap bar is not a cleanser. Soap bars are harsh for our delicate skin they can alter the PH balance of the skin which can cause bacterial infection or excessive dryness.

Try to invest in a cleanser that is fragrance-free and specially formulated for daily use. Choose your cleanser according to your skin type. If your skin type is dry, go for a hydrating cream cleanser, if your skin type is oily go for an oil-free gel cleanser, and if you have a combination skin you can buy a foam cleanser.

Before you start cleansing, wash your hands thoroughly. Take a small amount of cleanser in your palm and start cleansing your face. Gently rub your fingers in an upward direction for a circular motion. This tip will help in keeping your skin, tight and lifted. You can add a few drops of lukewarm water to increase the motion. The recommended time for a face cleansing is usually 2 – 3 minutes twice a day.

Before you invest in expensive cleansers give a try to these homemade face cleansers and get glowing and radiant skin in no time.

  • Take 2 TBs of oatmeal and simmer it in half a cup of milk for 30 minutes. Strain the liquid and apply it to your face and neck with the help of a cotton ball. Wash your face after 10 – 15 minutes and get an instant brightness.
  • In a blender add a tablespoon of yogurt and one cucumber. Make a fine paste and apply it to your face and neck evenly. Leave it on your skin for 15 minutes and later rinse with lukewarm water.

Exfoliate Twice A Week

Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells from the outer layer of skin leaving the skin vibrant and glowing. There are mainly 3 types of exfoliations. Depending on your skin type and concerns, you choose the type you need.

  • Physical exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin layers with the help of tools such as face scrubs, brushes, and some advanced techniques such as dermaplaning and microdermabrasion.
  • Chemical exfoliation involves the use of all skin care products such as cleansers, scrubs, masks, toners, serums, and moisturizers that contain key ingredients like Alpha Hydroxy Acids (Glycolic, Lactic, Mandelic, and Citric Acids), Beta Hydroxy Acids (Salicylic Acid) and some enzymes. Alpha Acids work by lifting off the build-up of dead cells from the surface of the skin to give an instant brightness while Beta Acids penetrate the pores and help in clearing the breakouts.
  • The last type of exfoliation is our favourite which is Natural Exfoliation. Did you know without spending $$$ you can exfoliate at home with the help of basic ingredients?

Sharing with you some of our favorite natural exfoliation home remedies.

Grab your bottle of coffee and take half tsp mix it with 1Tsp coconut oil and make a thick paste. Apply it over your face with the help of your fingers in a circular motion. Leave it for a few minutes and rinse with water.

Take 1 tsp chickpea flour, 1 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp yogurt, and a few drops of natural oil to make a thick paste. Apply the mask on your face evenly and rest it for 5 – 10 minutes. Rinse it with lukewarm water and get a glowing vibrant skin without emptying your wallet.

Make Sunscreen Your Best Friend

It has been said by many beauty experts, that if you want to invest only in 1 skincare product, you must invest in a sunscreen. Sunscreen is your skin’s best friend. Applying sunscreen indoors or outdoors is the best thing you can do for your skin.

Sunscreen serves as a protective layer of your skin. It shields your skin from harmful UV rays, and early signs of aging, lowers skin cancer risk, and prevents sunburn.

Imagine getting lots of fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone in your early 30s. Take it as a horror story! Say all the thanks to the sunscreen and save yourself from premature aging.
